Protection anode 87J01

The protective anode is a crucial component of every marine engine, as it protects the engine's metal parts from galvanic corrosion. It is designed to gradually wear away during engine operation and while the vessel is in seawater or freshwater, instead of the valuable metal components of the engine. This helps extend their service life and maintain the engine's performance.

Regular inspection and timely replacement of the protective anode are especially important when operating a vessel in seawater, where the risk of corrosion is higher. A worn anode can no longer provide adequate protection, which may result in damage to the metal components of the marine engine.

NOTE: Do not paint the surface of the protective anode. The anode must be in direct contact with the water in order to function properly and protect the metal components of the marine engine from galvanic corrosion.
